Taking The "Other 6" Seriously
Nothing will happen in our congregations until it first happens in "me." That means reclaiming the f word isn't just a corporate or congregational thing. It's a personal thing. And so I'm pretty interested in anything that helps bring home the message that to be a Christian is to participate in what God is up to in the world...in MY world...in my home, my work, my school, my everyday life.
At Loyola Communications, the Jesuits are trying to give an ancient spiritual discipline new life and new meaning via the web. Check out http://Other6.com - as in "what's going on in your faith life on the other six days of the week?!?" - a website that invites you to answer the questions "Where have you found God today?" and "Where do you need to find God today?" It's a totally cool, totally interactive site that brings the f word "home."
Pass it along.
(Thanks to Sandra and Joe - members of my congregation - for passing it along to me!)
What is your congregation doing to help people reclaim the f word in their own lives??? Anybody have any "best practices" to share???
